-----------------Sports Massage-----------

Sports Massage is a deep tissue massage therapy that has been increasingly used since the mid 1990's by sports and active people, normally on the back, neck, shoulders and legs. This type of massage normally starts with the legs and ends with the back. During the massage all areas of tight and imbalanced muscles will be treated with various techniques to correct the muscle tissues. Sports massage helps:
* Speed up recovery
* Reduce muscle tension
* Correct muscle imbalances
* Decrease potential for minor injuries becoming acute problems
*Improve range of movement at joints
*Improve your performance

------------Sports Injury Massage--------

This massage therapy concentrates on the area that is causing pain or problems and works outwards along the muscles that attach to the area in concern. From an initial consultation and muscular tests I can ascertain where pain or problems are caused. I use a combination of special massage techniques, ice massage and passive stretching during an injury massage depending on the severity of the injury. Ice massage would normally be used in the initial stages of an injury to reduce inflammation and/or swelling. Once I have determined the muscles that are causing problems I will give my clients a series of stretching exercises to do at home to speed up the healing process.

---------------Remedial massage---------

Remedial massage is a specialist treatment that concentrates on muscles that are overstrained, overstretched and in pain due to overuse. This treatment will concentrate on damaged or painful muscles.

--------------Swedish Massage-----------

This type of massage can be tailored to the individual from a firm deep tissue therapy to a light therapeutic massage. Swedish massage is normally performed as a routine starting with the front of the body (arms, neck, stomach and legs) and ending with the back of the body (legs, shoulders and finally the back).
